The Export Development Project participated in the event organized by Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and Ministry of Finance to introduce the project.

During the event, projects and programmes funded by international donors introduced their activities, implementation and outcomes to private sector enterprises. Representatives of 14 projects, which are working to support SMEs, participated and introduced their activities.

The event was opened by Ms. Saule, Vice Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and she stressed the importance of partnership between international organizations and the private sector.

Ms. Bulgantuya, Vice Minister of Finance, also pointed out that international donors and investors have a great interest in Mongolia, especially in food and agriculture sector; however; there are a number of challenges in investing in Mongolia. If an international investment is supported by state policy, Mongolia has a chance to increase export share from food, agriculture and light industry sector up to 20-30 percent of the total export. This will support the livelihood of the majority of the population and influence the development of other sectors.
