EXPORT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
DECISION IS MADE TO AWARD MATCHING GRANTS TO ENTERPRISES

On 24 Oct 2018, at its routine 15th meeting the Evaluation Team reviewed the Export Development Plan (EDP) submitted by 15 enterprises and arrived at the decision to submit their proposals to the Ministry of Finance.

International consultant Andrius Šiaudinis participated this evaluation board meeting exchanged his view on project implementation process and further advancement of the project.

Upon analyzing EDPs submitted by enterprises, the Matching Grant Facility provided a methodology for a further enhancement and presented the satisfactory EDPs to the independent Evaluation Team which consists of  private sector dominant team for a decision of providing matching grants to SMEs.

Those SMEs or matching grants beneficiaries are involved in the food and wool and cashmere industry, carpet, and leather manufacturing industry as well as information technology service industry. Those beneficiaries are contractually committed to utilizing matching grants for the purposes of carrying out activities to build-up awareness of products and services at international markets, website development and attending export fairs etc. SMEs are highly invited to participating matching grants facility

According to the statistics of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC, 2017), Mongolia's tourism sector accounts for 3.7 percent of GDP and is projected to increase by 2.8 percent by 2028.

TRAINING ON “METHODOLOGY FOR DEVELOPING EXPORT DEVELOPMENT PLAN-18” IS CONDUCTED

On 9 of January 2019, the training to provide methodology for developing “Export Development Plan”, one of the key documents of the Matching Grants sub-component of the Export Development Project, was delivered at to representatives of around 20 entities involving existing exporters and those wishing to be future exporters.  

“MONGOLIAN EXPORTERS-2018” E-CATALOGUE

Export Development Project (EDP) has cooperated with Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) to produce “Mongolian Exporters-2018” E-Catalogue to support exporters in accessing into the new markets, promote their products and services, expand their market and establish communication with foreign partners. It is presented in exporters.mongolchamber.mn website and printed onto a CD.

On 06 Dec 2018, at its routine 16th meeting the Evaluation Team reviewed the Export Development Plan (EDP) submitted by 22 enterprises and arrived at the decision to submit their proposals to the Ministry of Finance.
